Cookie Policy
Last updated: August 2026
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep EntreDash working, and a few marketing tools, from Meta, LinkedIn, Reddit, and Google to measure our advertising and from Microsoft to see how people use our site, so we can make it better. You are in control of the marketing ones, and none of them has access to your idea or memo content.
Essential (always on)
These are required for the service to work. They carry no advertising.
- Session cookie. Keeps you signed in after you verify your email or phone. Required for the app to function. Cleared when you sign out.
- Anonymous-session cookie. Lets you start a strategy session before creating an account. Merged with your account when you sign up. Cleared after 30 days of inactivity.
- Preferences storage. Stores small UI choices in your browser's local storage: sidebar collapse state, last viewed memo, dismissed onboarding tips, and your cookie choice. Never sent to our servers.
Marketing (your choice)
- Meta Pixel. Helps us understand which of our ads bring inventors to EntreDash and reach more people like you. It sees which pages you visit on our site and whether you sign up or subscribe. It never sees your idea, your memos, your sessions, or any of the confidential work inside your account.
- LinkedIn Insight Tag. The same job for our LinkedIn advertising: which pages you visit and whether you sign up. It also never sees your idea, memo, or session content.
- Reddit Pixel. The same job for our Reddit advertising: which pages you visit and whether you sign up or subscribe. It also never sees your idea, memo, or session content.
- Google tag (Google Ads). The same job for our Google advertising: which pages you visit and whether you sign up or subscribe. It also never sees your idea, memo, or session content.
- Microsoft Clarity. Records anonymized sessions on our public pages, such as clicks, scrolling, and where a page confuses people, so we can see what is working and fix what is not. It runs only on our marketing pages, never inside your account, so it never sees your idea, memo, or session content.
All five are covered by the single marketing choice. Accepting or declining applies to all of them, and there is no way for one to load while the others are off.
Some of this measurement also happens server to server, not only in your browser. When you sign up, start a checkout, or subscribe, our servers send Meta, LinkedIn, and Reddit a short confirmation of that event so the measurement does not depend on a browser tag surviving an ad blocker. Those calls carry a one-way hash of your email address (and, for Meta, of your phone number if we have it), your IP address and browser user-agent, and for a purchase the plan and the price. A one-way hash is a fingerprint, not the address itself. They never carry your idea, memo, or session content. They honour the same single choice as the tags: opt out and the server calls stop too.
In the EU, the UK, and the EEA we ask for your permission before either tool loads, and they stay off unless you accept. Elsewhere they are on by default and you can turn them off at any time. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat that as an opt-out automatically, wherever you are.
What we still don't do
- No fingerprinting scripts.
- No selling of your personal information.
- No advertising or analytics tool, ever, is given your idea or memo content.
Your control
You can change your choice any time from the Cookie preferences link in the footer, or opt out of marketing there in one click. Opting out takes effect immediately: the two tools are unloaded, the cookies they set are expired, and the server-to-server measurement stops as well. You can also clear cookies from your browser settings, though clearing the session cookie will sign you out. Essential cookies can't be turned off, because the app can't run without them.
